Being either dim, or dogged, I'd like to be clear on the location of the
July get together, which we seem to have agreed will be at 11:30am on
Wednesday the 5th of July.
The last place mentioned by name was Juliet's on Cornwall Ave. I wasn't
clear on whether this had been agreed to by all or whether other options
were still being considered.
I'll be pleased to show up at anyplace the group is agreeable to. I'd
just prefer not to arrive somewhere wearing a funny hat, a brightly
coloured jacket, boots with pointy toes and carrying a book with Wizzard
printed on it in sequins, and find I'm the only one. ;-)
Thanks for not leaving me standing around looking as forlorn as Rincewind.

The short answer is "er..."
The long answer is yes and yes for date and time.

Lesley & I had an exchange ?yesterday? where we spent some
time trying to find the Romeo's that she remembers - and it's gone.
Which is sad because because it's always nice to try a place that
someone else likes.
I've done some googling regarding the Romeo's cum Juliet's that
we found, and I must say it is not good. Here is the website,
which won't load on my home machine:
http://www.julietscafe.com/homepage.html
http://www.julietscafe.com/instore.html
Here are two reviews, which definitely do not throw bouquets
at the place:

I confess, based on the above reviews, and the fact that none of us
have tried the cafe to recommend it, that I would like to request that
we continue to consider the venue.
If this is okay with you (collective), are there any frugal places you
(Blake) go to that you would be (a) willing to recommend, and (b)
willing to show up at in sequins with strangers?

Hey - to look like Rincewind you have to be running like buggery.
More like Windle Poons after having the offer of "a good time"
recinded at speed. :)
So, in order to allow a week's announce time, we need to have
this sorted by, say, Monday.
Speak up there; don't be shy.
April.

Quite put out, I am.

It's fine by me (singular).

Excellent, so far so good.

I tend to go either too far into the low end, though not as bad as
Rotten Ronnies, or too far upscale. The only place in the middle I have
frequented that might be OK is Benny's Bagels on Broadway. The phone
book says it is at 2505 Broadway, which sounds about right. I've always
enjoyed it, of course anyplace that makes a decent milkshake and doesn't
burn the bagel can keep me relatively happy.
Comments? Bouquets? Arrows?

Ah, this one gets much better reviews:
http://www.dinehere.ca/restaurant.asp?r=764
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/getaways/70518_getreview16.sht ml
Although - it appears there are a few of them (UBC, Davie, Yaletown,
Cambie) so we'd better be iron-clad about all us going to the Broadway
location. It appears to be between Larch & Trafalgar, closer to the
Larch corner.
I'm game - what say you?
April.

That sounds good, I think I've even been there.

Looks like Jessie can't make it, which is a shame, so I think that's all of
us agreeing. So - Benny's bagels *on Broadway* at 11.30 am on Wednesday July
5th?
